The event focuses on the trade promotion of folk crafts & Arts and innovative design which are made by domestic and international craftsman and artisan in the communities including SMEs, young designer, and entrepreneurs. The event also provides activities to enrich knowledge on international trend and marketing related to craft industry.

Arts & crafts are part of culture that express people’s lifestyle in South-East Asia and other regions. In 2015, ASEAN Community is expected to connect ASEAN countries more closely in many aspects. La tercera edición del IMEX se celebró entre el 22 y 23 de Octubre de 2014, en el World Trade Center de Barcelona, donde Tailandia ha participado recibiendo a una veintena de empresas.
El objetivo de organizar este tipo de ferias es el desarrollo de la competitividad de las PYMES españolas y la promoción de la importación y exportación entre compañías españolas y extranjeras.
La idea también es encontrar la información más actualizada en comercio exterior, compra o venta de bienes y servicios extranjeros, identificar los objetivos reales de los negocios, aprender en los seminarios, conferencias y mesas redondas organizadas en el evento, encontrar información técnica de comercio exterior, basada en la experiencia de diferentes países, etc.
